Sometimes, the scapegoat is genuinely poor.

Dicko
WTF
Putting crosses into the crowd you mean. Do we now station a player on the goal somewhere near the corner flag to keep his crosses/shots inplay. He contributes nothing. He causes no end of problems and opportunties to the opposite teams endlessly. I've never seen a more complete useless turd. The whole team is affected by him incompetence.

Win together, lose together. The problem is lack of squad depth leading to lack of options. That’s not Arthurs fault and whilst he might not be the quality we want going forward he has his positive moments on the attacking side, including this season.

When Arthur goes who will be the new scapegoat for every defeat?
My moneys on Diop.

We need better players to turn to than Arfur in the squad and he needs to be moved on asap. We can give Longelo a chance instead at a minimum or look for a quality left back in the summer assuming Jan will be about other priorities.

Diop's ability to resemble "bambi on ice" still hampers him enormously. Those lunges with his long legs are "hit and miss" and risky. His biggest issue though is technical ability. Struggles with passing accurately especially over a distance. Dawson does too but he excels in one area Diop will never which is that he puts his body on the line and is fearless and tough. Diop too much of a french "dandy" for me. But like I say, Diop in possession looking up and launches an ale house ball to no one or plays a pass along the ground that goes straight back to the opposition. Johnson also needs to improve that part of his game... the longer ball always gifting the ball back to the opposition. But Johnson has good control, decent short passing, strong on the ground and in the air.

Watching us and the very best, very rich teams the ability to pass accurately throughout the team is one big difference. We have quite a few players now who are able to do that but still 3 or 4 in any 11 that do not have the passing accuracy needed. Antonio another who when not playing well, gives it up far too cheaply. Benrahma too.

Anyway, January has to be prioritised on another CB and another forward option to Antonio. We need more of course, a viable alternative for rotation with Rice and Soucek assuming Kral is not going to be that guy? Maybe he will step up eventually but his brief appearances dont suggest so. Another goalscoring midfielder may also be required eventually ( Lingard type ) but lets give Vlasic a little more time as there is definitely some improvement in his ball retention but he needs to be more involved and of course contribute with more assists and goals ( he got an assist last night even though it was an attempted shot that found Bowen :-) ) .

In summary, January we have to, at a minimum, get some striker alternative to Antonio and another CB ( Nat Phillips please ).

Not sure they have a genuine replacement if he'd been missing

Tbf - Kane offered very little yesterday, even though he should have been sitting it out.

Re: ⚽ Tottenham v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Longelo did well in a dead rubber in the Europa. That will give him more chances in the future

Many if not most knew we needed another striker and a left back in the summer and of course the way things work we were without Cresswell & Antonio yesterday and paid the price for not having back ups.
Hasnt helped with our 1st choice centre back pair of Zouma & Ogbonna missing and refereeing incompetence meant Harold Kane WAS playing.

Hardly disappeared, has he? Came in for a game and did well, then went back to the U23s.

Did we ever figure out what happened to Longelo, why has he disappeared

I thought we did well considering the line ups.

Masuako did put one very good cross in, the rest of his performance was shit.

Thought we played well including Masuaku. Shame Loris was on form, we could have won without him doing so well.
As usual lately better final balls from Masuaku and others would helped a lot.

Scored the winner vs Chelsea so will always be a legend to me.

Doesn’t mean we have to play him though.

"Not gonna mention his name as some people on here a bit precious and see him as a massive asset to the team….. *coughs *…. But fuck me…. Spurs didn’t half attack a lot down our left hand side…. Just saying like…."

It's probably just a MASSIVE coincidence, and there's obviously no link to ii, but hasn't our downturn in form coincided with him coming back on the scene?

Should he have played for us again after he did this? He bloke doesn't know what planet he's on.

The spitting thing was the end. No idea what Moyes is thinking.

Had some banter this morning with two relatives, who are Spurs ST holders, and tbh they are carrying on in a way that last night’s game was their cup final.

Fuck em, move on.

West ham tried to play good football and gave it good go. That's all I ask. If rice doesn't get the England captain armband off Kane then Southgate is a cunt. Rice is a proper leader and best player since Keane.

Let's finish above the cunts and try and win the Europa or FA cup. Another good yid MATE sent me a video of cunts going mental at winning...must have been their cup final 😂

360 Agreed.
If Mourinho thought he was a beast his knowledge of the game is better than mine.
He did, however,,make two glaring mistakes last night and with that useless piece of camel dung called Arfa he had no back up.
It would appear Zouma is our til end of the window and for me I'd like to see either Baptiste or, Alesi given a go.
I have no idea when his contract is up but by the time Zouma is back I think everyone will see how good or bad he has become.

ted

Diop is basically our 4th choice CB.
I'm not sure what we would expect from our 4th choice CB at a PL club. Better than Diop?? not sure about that.

He also happens to be the youngest and the one with the potential to increase his value. But he hasn't had the benefit of a run in the team unlike Rice etc..

So its a tough one. Can he get better? If he does you'll have a very valuable 1st PL battle CB in his mid 20's. Arsenal spent 50m in Ben White.. (is he even that good?). So I suppose it gives you an idea of Diop's potential value maybe.

Re: ⚽ Tottenham v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Disappointed with the result but not the performance given the depleted team, just look at the stats.

Funny how we get differing views on players. Yes we all agree that Arfur was...... well.....Arfur. I thought Ashby had a decent game yes he is a little rough around the edges, but he is young and I am sure given tme he will be a shining diamond. Vlasic gave his best performance so far he should play the number 10 role behind the centre forward. Apart from the shoddy defending for the 2 goals the back 3 looked ptetty solid Areola could have done better with the second goal tho.Lanzini looked a little out of sorts again and is not the player he once was. Super Tom looked the player we had last season and had his best game for a while. Rice was the best player on the pitch......a Rolls Royce. Bowen took his goal well and caused them a few problems.

All only my opinion of course onwards and upwards.

Moyes and his staff know what is needed to make our team better.....over to you GSB and our Czech mate.

Re: ⚽ Tottenham v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Everyone was calling out for a striker and left back in the last window. We didn't buy either and that decision is killing us.
I cannot stand watching Masuaku. His positioning is so bad, he ball watches and can't tackle. Honestly it's like carrying that awful player in a Sunday league game because only 11 players turned up. I honestly have no idea why Moyes persists with him, he gives away a minimum of 2 chances a game.
